Brad Keselowski and the Wabash Ford team had about as strong a day as you can have without winning on Sunday at Pocono Raceway.
BK led just one time, for four laps, but he was in contention all day, booking third and fourth place stage runs on the way to a runner-up finish at Pocono Raceway. It was his best finish at the Long Pond, Pennsylvania Tricky Triangle since 2016, his fourth career runner-up finish there and his 10th Top-5 at Pocono in the Cup Series. Additionally, it was his sixth Top 5 and seventh Top 10 of 2019.
“I think we had a pretty good Wabash Ford. I am proud of the team effort to make a lot of stage points and get a solid finish out of the day,” Brad said. “It was a good all-around effort, just not the playoff bonus points and win and all of that that we were looking for, but I’m still very proud of everyone on the Wabash team.”
Though the driver of the No. 2 car would’ve liked to get a chance to make a run at race-winner Kyle Busch, he knew that with a green flag run to end the race, his chances of doing so were slim without one more restart.
“He was strong. Not only was he one of the fastest cars but if you were a 20th-place car and got into the lead today you were going to drive away. It’s just the way the rules were.”
